Jaypee
Institute of Engineering and Technology (JIET)
is a constituent center of Jaypee University
of Information Technology (JUIT), Himachal
Pradesh (set up by Act No. 14 of 2002 vide
Extraordinary Gazette notification, Govt.
of HP dated May 23, 2002 and approved by the
University Grants Commission under section
2(f) of the UGC act). This is one of the three
institutions of higher learning in the field
of Degree level Engineering education established
under the Jaiprakash Sewa Sansthan (JSS) educational
initiative which recognizes the role of IT
and emerging technologies in improving the
quality of life of the people of India. JIET's
location at Raghogarh, in Guna district is
a well thought out process.This region, currently
in a rural setting with strong agricultural
activities is likely to grow as a major industrial
hub. JIET is being developed as a major center
to provide competent, well trained technical
manpower to the region.
The JIET campus on the national highway linking
Agra to Mumbai is being developed on a 100
acre as modern institution of higher learning
in the field of engineering and technology
education. The foundation stone of this institution
was laid on 15th March 2002 by the then chief
minister of Madhya Pradesh Shri Digvijay Singh.
The complex is being built on a well thought
out "Seven Phase" plan to make it
a self sufficient, vibrant modern center of
excellence with the mission of providing an
excellent quality of Undergraduate and Postgraduate
education, with a strong emphasis on research
and innovation and close interaction with
the industry. It aims to produce professionals
who can be leaders in innovation, entrepreneurship
, creativity and management. The first academic
activities of JIET started in the year 2003.
Presently the institute offers 4 year (8 semester)
B.Tech Programmes, M.Tech. (By Research) Programmes
and Doctoral Programmes in Chemical Engineering,
Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering
and Electronics and Communication Engineering.
The Doctoral Programmes are also available
in Mathematics and Physics streams.
The institute has the modern campus, well
equipped state-of-the-art laboratories and
library, which provides a pleasant and intellectually
stimulating ambience for students in eco-friendly

Admissions

Undergraduate

Students
Selection Process
Admission
to Four-Year UG Programs in Information Technology,
Electronics & Communication Engineering,
Computer Science & Engineering, Chemical
Engineering, and Civil Engineering for academic
year 2006-07 will be made on the basis of merit
ranking in the Entrance Test to be conducted
on 6th May 2006. Seats in all programs will
be allotted in order of merit & on the basis
of the preferences indicated at the time of
JUIT counseling. Confirmation on centers for
entrance test will be decided subsequently and
given in the advertisement.
Eligibility
for Admissions
The
minimum academic qualification for admission
to anyone of the UG programs is a pass in the
10+2 or its equivalent with Physics and Mathematics;
and either Chemistry or Biology. Those candidates
whose date of birth falls on or after October
01, 1985 and have passed 10+2 or its equivalent
exam not before year 2004 or appearing in year
2006 are only eligible to apply.
Candidates
must produce certificate of proof of his/her
date of birth and qualifying examination at
the time of counseling failing, which they will
be disqualified. If an applicant is found ineligible
even at a later date, after admission to the
University, his/her admission will be cancelled.
All admissions will be subject to verification
of facts from the original certificates/documents
of the candidates. The decision of the Admissions
Committee of JUIT regarding the eligibility
of any applicant shall be final.
Student Counseling
Candidates
will be invited for counseling through a written
communication on the basis of their ranking
in Entrance Test. Candidates whose names appear
on the merit list displayed on the University's
website, but have not received the written communication
for counseling, can also appear for counseling
on the date(s) notified.
Submission
of Application Form
Candidates
are required to submit Application Form before
12th April 2006.

Guna,
the gateway of Malwa & Chambal is located
on the northern - eastern part of Malwa Platue
between Parbati and the Betwa rivres. Mathematically
the District is situated between the radiameters
23'53" N and 25'6'55 N and langumate 76.48'
30"E and 78', 16'70"E. The Parbati
is the main river flowing along the western
boundary touching Rajgarh District of M.P. and
Jhalawarh and Kota District of Rajasthan. Shivpuri
& Kota are located in north where as Vidisha,
Bhopal, and Rajgarh lies to the South. The total
area of District is 6484.63 sq. km. with a population
of about 8.5 lacs. Guna District is divided
into five tehsils, Raghogarh is one of the Tehsil
where the institute is located.
It is well connected with the Road and situated
on the National Highway No. 3 Agra-Bombay National
Highway (A-B Road) From Raghogarh, Gwalior is
250 km to the north of it, Bhopal 190 km to
the south and Indore 250 km's to the south.
The important places of this District are Palai,
Guna, Ruthiyai, Aron & Binaganj. The state
Highways is all weather roads in the district,
which connect important towns.
